Personal Blender....It's For MORE
Than Just
Smoothies!
Most homes
benefit from having a
personal blender in the kitchen.
It’s almost
become as essential as having a toaster or
a microwave oven.
A
personal blender will save you time in
the kitchen, whilst at the same time provide the family with
good
home made
fresh food.
One
of the things to consider when buying a blender is it’s capacity.
Decide before
you hit the shops the main reason for buying a blender in the first
place.
Blenders
come
in all different shapes and
sizes
but
if you know you’re going to be using it on a daily basis then a blender
with a
small motor may not be sufficient.
Most
cheap blenders have small motors and although these are adequate for
certain
fruity drinks they will not cope with heavy soups or heavy density
foods. So
initially it’s best to look for one with at least a 500 watt capacity.
Even if
at first you feel this is not necessary remember you may come to use
your
blender more and more and will need a bigger motor.
The
jug on any blender you choose is also an important factor to take into
consideration. More expensive models
usually come with a glass jug, although Vitamix has
an
ultra-hard
polymer jug which they consider to be superior.
Glass
jugs are probably superior to plastic ones as there is a less
likelihood of
plastic being scraped off the side of the jug while the motor is
turning.
Quality
blender blades will give you
years of service,
unlike some cheaper quality blenders whose blades have a short life
span.
Hamilton Beach blenders have a wave action feature in their blades
which help
to suck the contents downs to the bottom of the jug ensuring everything
is
being blended properly.
The
blender drive system on any personal blender should be of metal as
plastic
wears out much quicker and will restrict the action of the blades
themselves.
Consider
therefore what you want your personal blender to do for you. If you
have a
large family there’s no point in trying to save money by buying a cheap
one.
This will not give you the service you require, and in the end will
cost you
money.
If,
on the other hand you are living alone, a cheaper blender will suffice.
Bear in
mind though that it will not be much use for making substantial type
soups or
blending dry ingredients.
A
personal
blender
has many uses and can be a great addition to your kitchen.
